Quick Gifts: Knitted Star Ornaments, December 14, 9-11 AM
Are you looking for a fabulous gift you can make quickly for your many friends and loved ones? We have a solution! In this workshop you'll learn how to make a knitted star that can be gifted as an ornament, a sachet, a paperweight-- or any other way your imagination chooses.
Using Hunter Hammersen's fabulous Scintillation pattern, we will work through the steps of casting on, knitting, and finishing one star. You'll take home what you've completed in class, as well as materials for two additional stars. Scintillation is a fun knit that can be made in virtually any weight of yarn, and is wonderful way to turn your scraps and project ends into special gifts and stocking stuffers.
This pattern is not for an absolute beginner. It requires that you know how to cast on, knit, purl, make simple increases and decreases, use double pointed needles, and bind off. Don't worry if you're a bit rusty or kind of new at any of these skills, but this workshop isn't intended to teach all of them from scratch.
*1 printed copy of Scintillation by Hunter Hammersen (if you provide your Ravelry ID, we will also make sure it is added to your pdf library)
*enough yarn and stuffing to make 3 ornaments
You will need to supply or purchase your own double pointed knitting needles in sizes appropriate for fingering, sport, DK, and worsted weight yarn, as well as a darning needle for sewing in ends. Class materials are available for purchase at a 10% discount on the day of your class; this discount may also be used on other items in the shop purchased on the same day (some excusions apply, details discussed in class).
We regret that we cannot offer refunds on classes. If you are unable to attend for some reason, you may still collect your pattern and yarn after the date of the class.
